CDL redevelop the 38-storey Fuji Xerox Tower office building to Newport Residences
CDL said it has submitted a plan to the Urban Redevelopment Authority to redevelop the 38-story office building Fuji Xerox Tower into the new project - Newport Residences. At the same time, another project is included, a 7-storey office and retail complex Central Mall on Havelock Road. Both properties can be granted a higher lot rate under government incentive programs.
It is known that CDL is looking forward to accelerating the redevelopment of its old commercial buildings in Singapore's central business district after the COVID-19 pandemic dragged on the group's net profit in the first six months of the year.
According to the latest information, Newport Tower (formerly Fuji Xerox Towers) will be built into a mixed-use commercial, residential and serviced apartment tower 46-storeys with a total floor area of 655,000 sqft. The new building will yield 25% more GFA than the existing office complex on site.
